This Privacy Policy explains how Easy Tag Manager collects, uses, stores and protects information when you use our website, desktop application, Google sign-in, Google Tag Manager automation, support chat, billing and related services.

1. Who we are
Easy Tag Manager ("ETM", "we", "us" or "our") is a martech and tracking automation tool that helps users scan websites, understand tracking signals and prepare controlled Google Tag Manager workspaces for review and publication.
For privacy questions, account requests or data deletion requests, contact us at support@easytagmanager.com.
2. Information we collect
Google account information
When you sign in with Google, we may receive your Google account identifier, name, email address, profile picture, email verification status and language preference. We use this to create your ETM account, identify your subscription and keep your app and website account connected.
Google Tag Manager information
When you authorize GTM access, ETM may access GTM accounts, containers, workspaces, tags, triggers, variables, templates, folders, versions and publish state that your Google account is allowed to access. We use this data to show available containers, prepare workspaces, avoid duplicate tags, apply user-approved tracking changes, publish when requested and provide support.
Website scan and implementation data
During guided scans, ETM may collect technical signals from the tested website, including dataLayer events, public page URLs, page paths, click/form evidence, request destinations, platform IDs visible in the browser, consent signals and other runtime information needed to diagnose or implement tracking.
Support chat and uploaded content
If you use support chat, we process your messages, selected GTM context, scan summaries and any images or files you choose to provide. This information is used to answer your request, troubleshoot tracking issues and, when you approve, prepare supported corrective actions.
Billing and usage information
We store subscription status, plan, Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, invoice-related status, usage counters and add-on status. Payment card details are processed by Stripe and are not stored by ETM.
Technical and security information
We may process IP address, browser or desktop app information, request logs, authentication session metadata, error logs and security events to operate the service, protect accounts and troubleshoot problems.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- authenticate users and keep accounts secure;
- connect the desktop app and website account to the same ETM identity;
- list GTM accounts and containers available to the authorized user;
- scan websites and generate tracking recommendations;
- create, update, clean up and publish GTM workspaces only when requested by the user;
- prevent duplicate tags and preserve existing GTM workspaces where possible;
- provide support chat, guided diagnostics and post-implementation quality checks;
- manage subscriptions, billing limits, invoices, add-ons and customer portal access;
- detect abuse, debug errors, maintain service reliability and comply with legal obligations.
4. Google API data and Limited Use
ETM uses Google APIs only to provide user-facing features requested by the user, such as accessing Google Tag Manager containers, preparing workspaces, creating tracking assets and publishing changes.
ETM's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or use it to train generalized AI models.
We do not expose Google OAuth access tokens or refresh tokens to the website frontend. In production, Google OAuth tokens are stored encrypted and are used by the backend only to call Google APIs on behalf of the authenticated user.
5. AI processing
ETM uses AI providers, including OpenAI, to help interpret tracking evidence, generate support answers and draft tracking recommendations. We may send support messages, selected scan summaries, selected GTM context and relevant diagnostic information to these providers. We do not intentionally send payment card details or Google OAuth secrets to AI providers.
6. Sharing with service providers
We may share information with service providers that help us operate ETM, including:
- Google, for sign-in and Google Tag Manager API access;
- Amazon Web Services, for hosting, database, secrets management and security infrastructure;
- Stripe, for checkout, subscription management, customer portal and payment processing;
- OpenAI or similar AI providers, for support and diagnostic assistance;
- email or operational tools used to respond to support and account requests.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and security, or in connection with a business transfer such as merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
7. Cookies, sessions and local storage
ETM uses cookies and local storage to keep users signed in, store language preferences, operate billing account sessions and maintain desktop app state. The website billing session uses HTTP-only cookies restricted to billing routes. The desktop app stores its own session separately.
8. Data retention
We keep account, subscription and usage records while your account is active or as needed for billing, tax, security, support and legal purposes. Google OAuth tokens can be removed by disconnecting Google in the app, revoking access in your Google Account, or asking us to delete your account. Some records may remain in backups or logs for a limited period and may be retained where required by law.
9. Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect user information, including HTTPS, restricted cookies, backend-controlled Google API access, encrypted storage for production Google OAuth tokens, secret management, access controls and operational monitoring. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your choices and rights
You may:
- disconnect Google access from ETM;
- revoke ETM access from your Google Account permissions page;
- manage or cancel your subscription through the Stripe customer portal;
- request access, correction or deletion of personal information by contacting us;
- ask questions about how ETM processes your data.
We may need to verify your identity before processing some requests. Certain billing, security or legal records may need to be retained even after an account deletion request.
11. International transfers
ETM and its service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards and service provider commitments for international data transfers.
12. Children
ETM is intended for business and professional use and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as ETM evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and may provide additional notice through the website or app.
14. Contact
